Picking Up a Block of Games

  • Whenever you see a black box around multiple games with a thick black bar at the top, you’ll know that this is a block of games.

  • An assignor may block off games for various reasons, but typically it’s because working multiple games consecutively in one location can make the commute worthwhile for an official.

  • If you see a block of games that you’re interested in, please click on one of the games that’s inside the block.

  • Once you’re viewing that particular game, you’ll notice that the yellow button reads “pick up block” rather than “pick up game”.

  • Clicking this button does not lock you into the block, rather it will take you to a view of all the positions within the block.

  • So click the button to proceed.

  • In order for the yellow button to become available, you’ll have to select all of the available positions in the block.

  • You’ll know you’ve done this when all of the positions turn blue and the “Pick up all games” button turns from gray to yellow.

  • Click the yellow button and you’ve just successfully picked up a block of games

  • Now that you’re assigned to a block of games, you’ll notice that leaving an individual game in the block functions the same way as picking up one.

  • In order to leave an individual game, you’ll have to leave the entire block.
